Albano Ballerini's photographic career has its roots between Porto Recanati and the Edgardo Mannucci Art Institute in Ancona, in the 1970s.
He then moved to Florence, where he studied at the Istituto Superiore per le Industrie Artistiche-ISIA, and in 1978 he opened his first studio of Advertising Photography: DayLight Studio.
Eager to explore wider horizons, in 1983, Albano moved permanently to New York, which at that time was the world capital of Advertising Photography and Still Life.
He mainly works as a photojournalist for various American and Italian magazines, maintaining a collaborative relationship with the Marka photographic agency in Milan. His editorial works are published in many magazines, such as Epoca, L' Europeo, Famiglia Cristiana and Capital, to mention a few.
In 1987, Albano Ballerini opened his first photographic studio in New York, attracting the attention of various representation agents for professional photographers, including Marge Casey who catapulted Albano into the cyclone of the most important advertising agencies in the USA, thanks to his experimental approach to photography.
In 1991, represented by Levin/Door Associates, he produced advertising campaigns for many national and international brands: American Express, Taittinger, Avon, Macy's, Alizé, Libbey's Glassware, Maybelline, Baileys Irish Cream, Tiffany, Lipton, IBM and many others.
At the beginning of 2001, Albano also takes over the photographic direction of Gem.net, owned by Swarovski, which was a jewelry online store and blog.
In recent years, Albano Ballerini divides his time between New York and Porto Recanati, where he founded Arsenale Fotografico, a cultural photography association that mainly deals with analogical methodologies and photographic culture. Focused on personal research, he has shifted his focus to art photography.
